About the Role
As a
New Street Counsellor
, you will deliver counselling and assessment services to children and young people ****** years) who have engaged in harmful sexual behaviours, and support their families and caregivers.
This role is part of the
Priority Populations Program Aboriginal Development Pathway
, offering mentoring, cultural supervision, and professional growth opportunities.
You'll also:
Provide cultural consultation and create a culturally safe environment for clients and staff.
Engage in community development and capacity building with local Aboriginal communities.
Collaborate with interagency partners including DCJ, Education, and Out-of-Home Care providers.
Participate in outreach services across MLHD, which may include after-hours work and overnight stays.
Maintain accurate client records and contribute to service evaluation and improvement.
This is an identified position in accordance with Section 14 of the Anti-Discrimination Act ****.

What we're looking for:
Aboriginality is a genuine occupational requirement (Section 14 Anti-Discrimination Act ****).
Qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, Counselling, Welfare, or Mental Health.
Experience working with Aboriginal communities and understanding intergenerational trauma.
Graduate Certificate in CAV qualification pathway - Graduate Certificate in Human and Community Services (Interpersonal Trauma) with demonstrated Cultural expertise or commitment to complete
Skills in child-centred, family-focused counselling and case management.
Current NSW Driver's Licence and willingness to travel.
