Salary: $80,000 – $90,000 + Super
Location: Across multiple Saferight Pty Ltd site locations in Western Australia
SAFERIGHT PTY LTD is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) over a period of 36 years, we deliver variety of quality safety trainings and manufacturing of safety equipment.
We are seeking a vibrant and enthusiastic Accountant to join our highly motivated and talented team, in a permanent full-time capacity.
The Role
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accountant to join our team.
This role is responsible for delivering high-quality financial and management accounting services, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, and supporting strategic financial decision making.
Key responsibilities include:
• Preparation and analysis of financial statements in accordance with relevant accounting standards
• Preparation of management reports, including profit & loss, balance sheet, and cash flow forecasts
• Ensuring compliance with taxation obligations, including, and other ATO reporting requirements
• Inventory management
• Managing month-end and year-end closing processes and any adjustment journals required.
• Performing balance sheet reconciliations and investigating variances
• Supervising Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions
• Preparing and reviewing payroll, superannuation, and payroll tax obligations
• Providing financial and performance analysis to support business decision-making
• Managing budgeting and forecasting processes
• Maintaining and improving internal controls, financial systems, and processes
• Liaising with external auditors, tax agents, and regulatory bodies
• Ad hoc duties as assigned by the Financial Controller
Skills and Attributes
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards and taxation requirements in Australia
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems (e.g., Xero, MYOB aXelerate, Ostendo or similar software)
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• High level of attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within the team
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• Commitment to continuous improvement and professional development
The Candidate
To be successful in this role, you will have:
• Bachelor's degree or higher qualification in Accounting
• At least 2 years' relevant professional accounting experience
• Progress toward or completion of a qualified qualification such as CPA Australia
• Demonstrated experience in financial reporting, taxation, and compliance
• Strong understanding of Australian Accounting Standards and regulatory requirements
Your Background
• Proven experience in management and financial accounting
• Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
• Experience using cloud-based accounting systems
• Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
