We are looking for a motivated
Leading Hand - Operator
to join our Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) at the Sunshine Coast plant at a full-time permanent basis.
This opportunity is ideal for a junior leader to take the next step in their career.
This role is attached to a weekly rotating shift pattern of 05:*****:00 week one and 13:*****:00 week two.
About the role:
Lead front line team with the support of management to meet safety, operations and compliance requirements
Operate plant machinery such as conveyors, balers.
Sort, separate, and process recyclable materials
Conduct pre-start checks on fixed and mobile plant
Assist with manual handling tasks and material movement around the site.
Monitor equipment performance and report faults or maintenance needs.
Ensure compliance with WHS, environmental, and site operating procedures.
Capability to safely operate loader and forklift equipment in line with site requirements
Promote a positive team culture and resolve minor issues on the floor before escalation
About you:




Previous relevant experience in waste management or manufacturing
Strong communication, leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
Strong capability to step into a leadership role and influence positive change on-site
Physical ability to perform required tasks (standing, reaching, bending, lifting, carrying)
Loader and forklift license tickets would be highly desirable
Flexibility to work public holidays or OT as required
