St Finn Barr's invites applications for two committed and compassionate Teacher Assistants to join our vibrant learning community.
About The Role
As a Teacher Assistant, you will work under the guidance of teachers and school leaders to provide high‐quality educational support.
You will assist with learning programs, student engagement, classroom routines, and individualised support across a diverse range of student needs.
You will collaborate closely with teachers, students, families and volunteers, contributing to a positive and inclusive school environment grounded in Catholic values.
Key Responsibilities include:
Student learning support through individual and small‐group assistanceContribute to the delivery of structured learning programsAssist with learning materials, preparation and organisationSupport students with routines, behaviour expectations and ICT useProvide basic physical, social and emotional careAssist with excursions, special events and yard dutyCommunicate student progress, concerns and successes to teachersSupport students with diverse learning, cultural and personal needs
Required Skills, Experience And Attributes
Commitment to supporting student growth and wellbeingAbility to build positive relationships with students and colleaguesStrong literacy, numeracy and reasoning skillsSound judgement, discretion and initiativeFlexibility, dependability and professional integrity.
Qualifications
Required:
Working with Vulnerable People RegistrationNational Police Criminal History CheckAccreditation A (or willingness to obtain)
Desirable:
Cert III Education Support or Early Childhood EducationExperience in specialised support areas (EAL, ATSI, MDT, food tech etc.)First Aid,
Protective Handling or Manual Handling trainingPrior experience in the education sector
