Primary objective
Provide technical survey advice and services to maintain the integrity of the cadastral framework, geodetic infrastructure,
related records and geospatial data; as well as support for land developments.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Provide quality and timely advice and services (under supervision) on cadastral and geodetic infrastructure and systems,
standards, policy, procedures, and spatial digital cadastre.
2. Participate in and assist with surveys to modernise the cadastre and geodetic framework; including analysis and
adjustment of survey information.
3. Maintain the integrity of land survey records, datasets, geospatial systems and infrastructure.
4. With supervision, provide support for the administration of the statutory functions of the Licensed Surveyors Act, the
implementation of survey reforms, and land developments.
5. Prepare a range of correspondence, and reports to support the approval of survey plans, and implementation of land
survey modernisation initiatives.
6. Maintain collaborative partnerships with stakeholders and industry to consult, engage, and support implementation of
modernisation initiatives; and / or recent technologies and techniques.
7. Actively participate in the Survey team, local and national working groups, by contributing innovative ideas and solutions
to all aspects of business; including the implementation of a spatially accurate cadastre, digital plan lodgement, Aboriginal




land claim surveys, and the future directions of land surveying.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Bachelor (or equivalent) of Surveying, Spatial Science, Geospatial Information Management or equivalent.
2. Knowledge of the principles and technical aspects of cadastral and geodetic surveying; including the integration and
maintenance of survey and geospatial information.
3. Emerging knowledge of land survey legislation, administration and application.
4. Understanding of project planning and management.
5. Ability to time manage and prioritise activities.
6. Effective communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills with the ability to interact with people of diverse cultures
and as a team member.
7. Understanding of the contemporary political, social, cultural, economic, and technical issues that can impact land
surveying and geospatial information management.
Desirable
1. Member of a professional organisation related to surveying or geospatial information management.
