The key duties of the position include:
The Role
The Henderson Defence Precinct Communications Officer will work to the EL 1 Deputy Director, Communications.
You will be accountable under broad direction to perform and achieve complex communication, media and issues management work within an integrated workforce.
Key tasks will include:
Provide specialist advice to stakeholders on the design, development and implementation of a range of internal and external communication, media products and activities.
Generate key messages and talking points, material for Defence publications, media releases and updates to the internet and intranet.
Identify communication and media risks and opportunities within the business environment and take account of these in planning, decision-making and priority setting.
About our Team
The Henderson Defence Precinct Communications Unit consists of 3 fulltime APS employees.
This position will work alongside the existing APS 6 Communications Officer in our Canberra office/s.

Eligibility
Security Clearance:
Applicants must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance at "Negative Vetting Level 1".
