About the role
We are seeking a warm, organised and community-minded Playgroup and Children's Program Facilitator to plan and deliver welcoming playgroup sessions and activities for young children and their parents, carers and families.
This role supports children's early learning through play, encourages caregiver connection, and helps families feel confident, included and linked with local services.
Key responsibilities
· Plan and facilitate engaging, age-appropriate playgroups and children focused activities, that support children's development, confidence and social connection.
· Create a safe, inclusive and welcoming environment for children, parents, carers and families from diverse backgrounds.
· Set up and pack-down play activities, resources and spaces before and after each session.
· Support parents and carers to participate in play, conversation and peer connection.
· Share relevant information with families and provide referrals or links to local services where appropriate.
· Promote activities within the local community and build positive relationships with families, service providers
and community partners.
· Maintain accurate attendance records, basic program notes and any required reporting.
· Follow all child safety, wellbeing, privacy, workplace health and safety, and organisational policies.
About you
You will be someone who enjoys working with young children and families, communicates with warmth and respect, and can create a calm, fun and inclusive environment.
You will be confident working independently, building relationships, and adapting activities to suit different ages, abilities and family needs.
Selection criteria
· Experience working with children aged 0–5 years and their families in a playgroup, early childhood, community, education or family support setting.
· Understanding of play-based learning, child development and inclusive practice.
· Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to engage families in a friendly, culturally protected and non-judgemental way.
· Ability to plan simple activities, manage resources and maintain a safe play environment.
· Good organisational skills, including basic administration, attendance recording and reporting.
· Current Working with Vulnerable People/Working with Children registration.
· Current First Aid, with CPR, asthma and anaphylaxis training favourable, or willingness to obtain relevant qualifications.
· A relevant qualification in early childhood education, community services, education support or a related field is desirable.

172 Arthur Highway, Dunalley and **** Main Road, Nubeena
·
Hours:
3 days per week; Tuesdays (Nubeena), Wednesdays (Dunalley) and either Monday or Thursday (Nubeena) – negotiable; 8.30am-2.30pm, 5.5.
hours per day, during school terms only.

Pay rate:
SCHADS Award Level 3-4 (approximately $40-$47 per hour)
