We're looking for a
Senior Investigator
who's ready to lead complex investigations, contribute to critical decision-making, and play a key role in enforcing industry standards and legislation.
About the Role
As a
Senior Investigator
, you'll lead and support investigations into allegations of
misconduct, animal cruelty
, and
non-compliance
under the
Greyhound Racing Act ****
and related legislation.
You'll also prepare high-quality briefs of evidence, provide expert advice, and appear in court or disciplinary hearings as required.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor and provide quality assurance of all Commission investigations to ensure that high quality investigations are conducted, and briefs of evidence are compiled.
Conduct the more major investigations of critical importance to the Commission and Greyhound racing industry to ensure the investigation function is discharged to required standards and regulations.
Conduct, attend or assist with verbal intelligence briefings, presentations and meetings to influence decision making and inform stakeholders.
Prepare comprehensive investigation reports and briefs of evidence and make recommendations to support enforcement decision-making and prosecution of matters under the Greyhounds Racing Act **** or associated legislation.
Appear in disciplinary or court proceedings and give evidence on behalf of the Commission in matters relating to alleged breaches of the Greyhound Racing Act **** or other alleged misconduct.
Consult with the Senior Manager,



Investigations and Compliance to assist with the identification, assessment and targeting of complaints or suspected offences for investigation.
Assist in the development of intelligence practices and personnel to meet the organisations objectives.
Key Challenges
Demonstrating a high level of integrity, sensitivity, discretion and objectivity when leading investigations and presenting recommended actions and the provocative nature of these investigations in a highly challenging environment.
Ensuring timely collection and dissemination of accurate information and intelligence in a high volume environment with competing priorities.
Development and maintenance of sound knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation and policies, best practice, current and emerging trends and investigative techniques and capabilities to inform critical decision making
What You'll Bring
Extensive experience in investigations, compliance, or regulatory enforcement.
Strong understanding of relevant legislation, ideally the
Greyhound Racing Act ****

Excellent communication skills – written and verbal – with the ability to produce high-quality evidence and reports.
Confidence to represent the Commission in court or formal proceedings.
Integrity, sound judgment, and the ability to thrive under pressure.
