Primary objective
Lead, support, facilitate and coordinate the planning, implementation, delivery and monitoring of cultural safety initiatives and projects within the
division, including cultural safety education.
Use strategic, collaborative and improvement methodologies to continuously improve cultural safety
across the organisation, with the aim to improve the Aboriginal consumer experience within the health care environment and support NT Health
staff to confidently deliver culturally safe, patient centred care
Context statement
The Aboriginal Health,



Engagement and Workforce Division is responsible for driving cultural safety initiatives across the organisation to ensure
that health services provide a service that improves the Aboriginal consumer experience, limiting barriers to access and creating an environment
where Aboriginal consumers and staff feel protected withing our organisation.
The division will respectfully work with Aboriginal communities to co-
design healthcare services, facilitate cultural safety, strengthen the Aboriginal workforce and foster innovation in Aboriginal health.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Lead, coordinate, deliver, monitor and evaluate cultural safety education and training programs and resources.
2. Promote an inclusive, supportive, cooperative team environment, building respectful working relationships within the team and organisation
to deliver and support cultural safety initiatives and training programs.
3. Objectively and systematically analyse performance, data and information to improve, influence and adjust to organisation needs, while
maintain a focus on the outcomes of Aboriginal consumers and staff.
4. Develop, lead and projects that improve cultural safety within the organisation, using co-design and collaboration with and Aboriginal
communities to ensure their perspectives are prioritised.
5. Develop report on outcomes of initiative and projects; including cultural safety training to support transparency, identify improvements.

Develop and/or provide advice on policies and procedures that impact cultural safety, including NT Health Mandatory and Required Training
Guidelines and other relevant operational guidelines.
7. Act as a resource person to client groups and individuals in cultural safety education.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Demonstrated extensive experience in the development and delivery of cultural safety training in both face to face and online training modes
to a diverse audience.
2. Experience in planning, implementing and evaluate projects, programs and initiates based on program area requirements.
3. Proven ability to participate in teams with the ability to work autonomously, lead projects from end to end and achieve outcomes in a timely
manner.
4. Demonstrated high level of interpersonal, negotiation and collaboration skills to interact effectively with people from diverse cultures and in
multidisciplinary settings to achieve positive outcomes.
5. High quality written and oral communication skills.
6. Demonstrated initiative and problem-solving skills with the ability to implement continuous improvement.
7. Demonstrated ability to manage information effectively including the use of information technology applications.
Desirable
1. Qualifications in Adult Education and/or Certificate IV Training and Assessment or equivalent.
2. Detailed knowledge of Northern Territory Aboriginal cultures, contact history, politics, and issues affecting quality of service provision to
Aboriginal clients/communities.

The position will require travel
in remote communities, on unsealed roads in 4WD vehicles and light aircraft, including overnight stays.
