Bakers Delight Castletown is looking for an experienced Baker to join our team. This role involves hands-on baking, maintaining product quality, and ensuring daily production targets are achieved in a busy retail bakery environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce a variety of bread and bakery products in line with Bakers Delight recipes and standards
- Prepare dough through accurate measuring, mixing, kneading, and moulding
- Control fermentation and proofing conditions to achieve consistent results
- Bake products using commercial ovens while adjusting settings as required
- Maintain production schedules to ensure fresh products are available throughout the day
- Monitor quality of ingredients and finished products
- Ensure adherence to food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures
- Assist in stock control, ordering, and inventory management
- Maintain cleanliness of bakery equipment and work areas
- Assist in training and supporting junior bakery staff
Requirements
- Certificate III in Baking (or equivalent) preferred
- Minimum 2–3 years' experience as a Baker
- Strong understanding of bakery operations and food safety practices
- Ability to work flexible hours including early mornings and weekends
- Valuable organisational and teamwork skills
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
