A Power BI Developer contract position is available within a large enterprise organisation in Perth, Western Australia, undertaking a significant uplift of its IT Portfolio Management Office reporting and governance capability.
This role offers broad exposure across enterprise Power BI development, Microsoft Dataverse, portfolio reporting, governance frameworks and the Microsoft Power Platform, making it an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys designing scalable reporting solutions while working closely with both technical and business stakeholders.
The successful candidate will enhance and expand the organisation's existing Power BI reporting environment, delivering decision‑ready dashboards that provide visibility across project, program and portfolio health, financial performance, governance and delivery metrics.
Working alongside the Portfolio Management Office, IT leadership and governance stakeholders, you'll design reusable semantic models, improve reporting performance, implement best‑practice security and governance, and ensure all solutions are thoroughly documented for long‑term support.
This is an initial 3‑month contract with the potential to extend for a further 3 months.
You Should Have
5+ years of commercial Power BI development experience
Strong Microsoft Dataverse or Dynamics 365 reporting experience
Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
Ability to translate business reporting requirements into effective dashboard solutions
Robust documentation and knowledge transfer skills
Collaborative working style

Assess existing portfolio reporting and identify improvement opportunities
Design and develop reusable Power BI semantic models over Microsoft Dataverse
Build and enhance dashboards covering: Financial reporting and variance
Stage gate reporting
Risk and issue reporting
Resource reporting
Benefits reporting
Optimise Power BI performance and data models
Configure Power BI workspaces, apps and refresh schedules
Implement Row‑Level Security aligned with least‑privilege principles
Validate reporting against enterprise project and financial data
Produce technical documentation including data dictionaries and model documentation
Deliver knowledge transfer sessions and support handover to internal stakeholders
Support reporting governance and continuous improvement initiatives
Ensure reporting complies with organisational information governance and cyber security standards

Up to $900 per day inclusive of superannuation
