About the role

As a Staff Specialist or Senior Staff Specialist within the Emergency and Trauma Centre (ETC) at the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital (RBWH), you will play a key role in delivering specialist emergency medical care within one of Australia's busiest and most highly regarded tertiary referral hospitals. Working within a collaborative multidisciplinary team, you will provide expert assessment, treatment and clinical leadership for patients presenting with a broad range of acute, complex and high-acuity conditions. You will contribute to the delivery of safe, high-quality, patient-centred care while supporting junior medical staff through supervision, mentoring and education.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:

- Provide specialist emergency medical care to patients presenting to the Emergency and Trauma Centre.
- Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital (RBWH) and throughout the RBWH as required by the Director of Emergency Medicine.
- Provide teaching to trainees in Emergency Medicine and to residents, interns, medical students and nursing staff in the Emergency and Trauma Centre through both formal and ad hoc teaching.




- Assist in the human resource management of junior medical staff allocated to the Emergency and Trauma Centre, via participation in feedback and performance review processes.
- Assist in the performance appraisal and development of junior staff.
