About the role

Permanent full time opportunity to provide efficient pharmacy services to the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital (RBWH) Mental Health Service, supporting organisational goals and legislative requirements through the management of operational pharmacy functions including medication distribution, stock control, prescription preparation, clinical support and administrative activities, while working collaboratively with Pharmacy Team Leaders to coordinate pharmacy services across the broader RBWH Pharmacy Department.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:

- Exercise a high degree of autonomy, initiative and judgment in facilitating the provision of a pharmacy service within the Mental Health Satellite Pharmacy at RBWH and managing the service requirements accordingly.
- Provide support, mentoring and supervision to less experienced pharmacy assistants.
- Provide and maintain courteous and efficient customer service to clients of the Mental Health Service by following procedures to identify the validity of prescriptions, ascertain waiting times, and refer to a pharmacist when necessary




- Correctly identify and obtain information required for dispensing medications including Medicare, concession and safety net details, and clinical information required by pharmacists for clinical review prior to dispensing (eg blood test results)
- Dispensing of inpatient, outpatient, discharge and leave medication in accordance with standard dispensing procedures ready for a pharmacist's check
