About the company:
A well-established and highly respected Australian business is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Officer to join its finance team in Melbourne's eastern suburbs.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys owning the end-to-end Accounts Payable function while working within a collaborative and supportive finance team. The role offers plenty of variety, exposure to broader finance responsibilities and the opportunity to contribute to ongoing process improvements.
The Role
Reporting to the Accounts Payable & Payroll Manager, your responsibilities will include:
- End-to-end Accounts Payable processing, including invoice coding, approvals and payment runs
- Domestic and international supplier payments, employee reimbursements and foreign currency invoices
- Daily bank reconciliations and supplier statement reconciliations
- Month-end journals, accruals and assistance with financial close activities
- Supplier onboarding and maintenance, ensuring compliance with internal controls
- Supporting trade finance processes and maintaining company expense records
- Assisting with balance sheet reconciliations and ad hoc finance reporting
- Providing backup payroll support when required
- Identifying opportunities to improve AP processes,
controls and efficiencies
- Building strong relationships with internal stakeholders and suppliers to resolve queries promptly
About You - To be successful, you will ideally have:
- Minimum 3 years' experience in an end-to-end Accounts Payable role
- Experience working within a medium-sized business setting
- Solid attention to detail with excellent organisational skills
- Intermediate ERP systems experience (Pronto experience highly regarded)
- Confident communication skills and a customer-focused approach
- The ability to manage competing priorities in a rapid-paced environment
- Exposure to payroll or broader accounting duties will be highly regarded
