About the Team

The role sits within the Faculty of Design and Society and works closely with academic and skilled staff, as well as central service units, to support teaching, exhibitions and shared Faculty spaces.

Job Purpose

This position provides facilities and logistics support to ensure teaching, exhibition, office and storage spaces are functional, well maintained and ready for use. It contributes to teaching activities, exhibitions and staff services through hands-on operational support.

Role Responsibilities

- Monitor teaching and shared spaces to ensure setup, cleanliness, safety and usability align with requirements
- Support the setup and dismantling of exhibitions, shows and project displays
- Undertake studio and space clearouts, including removal and disposal of materials
- Move, store and dispose of furniture, equipment and materials in response to requests
- Liaise with staff to confirm requirements and support teaching activities and space changes
- Work with central service units to support space readiness and maintenance
- Participate in safety checks and report hazards or maintenance issues.

Skills, Attributes and Knowledge

- Communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with a range of stakeholders




- Ability to carry out physical and practical work safely
- Ability to monitor spaces and identify issues requiring action
- General administrative skills and ability to use common office software
- Ability to organise work, prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
- Knowledge of WHS requirements relevant to facilities and shared spaces.

Experience

- Experience providing hands-on facilities, space or logistics support
- Experience with space setups, clearouts, and handling furniture or equipment
- Experience using office software and systems.
- Desirable: experience in an education, campus, gallery, studio or similar environment.

Qualifications

- No formal qualifications are required.

A current drivers license is essential to this role.

What We Offer

Base Salary Range: $78,352.00 - $83,807.00 per annum (pro rata) (HEW4) plus 17% superannuation (pension)

The position is part time (17.5 hours) and will be made on a continuing basis.
