The Position

We are seeking Principal Information Architects who can bring a consulting mindset to information architecture and data governance engagements across complex client environments, including work with government clients.

This role is suited to senior architecture practitioners who can use enterprise architecture thinking to shape business-aligned information and data outcomes, support practical governance models, and improve how data is defined, managed, protected and used.

You will work with executives, business stakeholders, data owners, technical teams and delivery partners to translate strategic objectives into clear architecture artefacts, governance recommendations and implementation pathways. The role requires strong consulting capability, structured enterprise architecture thinking, and the ability to operate with autonomy, influence and sound judgement in complex client environments.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead enterprise information architecture and information governance initiatives aligned to organisational strategy and business outcomes.

- Act as a trusted liaison between executives, business stakeholders, data owners,



technical teams and service providers to support fit-for-purpose architecture outcomes.

- Develop current-state, target-state and transition-state views across information, data, business capabilities, applications and integration touchpoints.

- Define data domains, information flows, metadata, data ownership, stewardship, quality controls, privacy, security and lifecycle considerations.

- Analyse data domains, information flows, metadata, ownership, quality, privacy, security and lifecycle considerations to identify risks, gaps and improvement opportunities.

- Translate business needs and strategic objectives into practical architecture options, roadmaps and implementation recommendations.

- Apply enterprise architecture concepts, modelling approaches and governance practices pragmatically to support information architecture and data governance outcomes.

- Prepare client-ready architecture products, decision papers, findings, risks and recommendations that support assurance, prioritisation and investment decisions.

- Demonstrate professional consulting behaviours by managing scope, quality, risks and stakeholder expectations, communicating clearly, mentoring others and adapting to different client environments.

Essential Capabilities, Behaviours, Skills or Experience

- Significant experience establishing or improving information governance frameworks, operating models and decision-making structures.

- Ability to operate at a Principal level, including leading complex architecture work, influencing senior stakeholders, shaping options and taking accountability for high-quality client outcomes.

- Strong understanding of data governance concepts, including data ownership, stewardship, metadata, data quality, information lifecycle, privacy, security, compliance and decision rights.

- Demonstrated experience developing information architecture artefacts including information models, information domains, information flows, governance frameworks and transition roadmaps.





- Working knowledge of enterprise architecture concepts, methods and modelling approaches, with the judgement to apply them pragmatically to information architecture and data governance outcomes.

- Ability to connect business, information, data and key application considerations to support coherent target-state design and implementation planning.

- Strong facilitation, stakeholder engagement and communication skills, including the ability to translate complex architecture and data concepts into clear options and recommendations.

- Professional consulting behaviours, including adaptability, commercial awareness, sound judgement, client focus, accountability for quality, and the ability to build trust in multidisciplinary teams.

- Candidates must be based in Perth, Western Australia and be an Australian Citizen.

Desirable Experience

- Experience working in WA Government, public sector, critical infrastructure or highly regulated environments.

- Information flow modelling and information lifecycle analysis.

- Data Loss Prevention (DLP) and information protection concepts.

- Experience supporting PCI DSS-related information governance and compliance initiatives.

- Experience with data management operating models, information asset registers, data catalogues, master data or reference data management.

- Experience using enterprise architecture, modelling or data governance tools such as Orbus iServer, Orbus Infinity, LeanIX, Sparx EA, Collibra, Purview or similar platforms.

- Familiarity with TOGAF, ArchiMate, BPMN, UML, DAMA-DMBOK, ISO 27001, privacy obligations, records management, data ethics or other information and enterprise architecture practices.

- Experience supporting digital transformation, data strategy, analytics enablement, whole-of-enterprise architecture governance or architecture repository uplift initiatives.
