About the role
We are now hiring for multiple casual positions across three key trades: Formworkers, Steel Fixers, and Concreters. These roles offer flexibility and variety, with opportunities available in both Perth city-based projects and FIFO (Fly-In/Fly-Out) positions. As a casual tradesperson with Newrocx, you will work on diverse construction projects, contributing your expertise to deliver quality results on time and within specification. This is an excellent chance for experienced tradespeople seeking flexible work arrangements whilst maintaining consistent engagement with a reputable company.
Key responsibilities
- Formworkers: Construct, position, and maintain formwork systems for concrete structures, ensuring accuracy and safety in line with project specifications and building codes
- Steel Fixers: Install and position reinforcement steel, including bars, mesh, and other steel elements, ensuring proper placement and securing in preparation for concrete pouring
- Concreters: Prepare, pour, finish, and cure concrete surfaces and structures to required standards, utilising hand tools and machinery as appropriate
- Conduct work in compliance with all relevant safety regulations, site-specific requirements, and company policies
- Collaborate effectively with other tradespeople and site personnel to maintain productivity and quality outcomes
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition and report any defects or hazards promptly
- Follow project timelines and respond flexibly to changing site requirements
What we're looking for
- Proven experience as a Formworker, Steel Fixer, or Concreter in the construction industry
- Strong understanding of relevant building codes, safety standards, and best practices within your trade
- Demonstrated ability to work accurately and maintain quality standards under varying site conditions
- Valid driver's licence and reliability for both city-based and FIFO arrangements
- Capacity to work flexibly as part of a casual arrangement with availability to pick up shifts as needed
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a construction team
- Current site induction certification (such as White Card or equivalent) is highly desirable
- Physical fitness and ability to work safely at heights and in varying environmental conditions
- A genuine commitment to workplace safety and adherence to site protocols
