The Wood Sander will be responsible for preparing wood components for Finishing by completing the following:
Operate different sanders and various hand tools to smooth wood surfaces and edges.Prepare parts by filling and repairing imperfections in the wood.Mask off parts in preparation for finishing.Apply stains, sealants, and other finishes to wood surfaces.Inspect finished surfaces to ensure they meet quality standards.Strip finish and prepare for re-finishing.Clean and maintain sanding equipment and hand tools.Read and understand shop drawings and specifications.Maintain a clean and secure work area at all times.
The Skillset
Possess a minimum of 2 years' experience in a wood manufacturing workplace, ideally within the store fixtures industry.Demonstrated knowledge of wood sanding principles.Proficient using hand tools.Attention to detail.Able to lift, carry, push and or pull objects weighing up to 50lbs.A positive attitude toward teamwork and robust relational skills.Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.High level of attendance.Excellent work ethic.Self-directed.Day Shift – 7:00a.m.
to 3:30p.m.
