Mandalay Apartments in Port Douglas is seeking an experienced, hands-on
Groundskeeper
to keep our established tropical gardens and common areas looking their best.
What you'll do (key responsibilities include, but aren't limited to):
Mowing, edging, weeding, mulching and
safe weed control
(including responsible herbicide use).
Basic irrigation repairs and adjustments (Mandalay has a brand current irrigation system throughout).
Pool testing, cleaning and general upkeep of pool surrounds.
Cleaning and presentation of common areas (BBQs, stairwells, tennis court, walkways).
Keeping work sheds, tools and equipment
tidy and in valuable working order
.
Putting bins out for collection and completing a
weekly bin clean
.
Assisting guests and owners with luggage and occasional on-site requests.
Liaising with Reception to report maintenance issues and request supplies.
About you:
Physically fit, reliable, self-starter who takes pride in presentation.




Experience in lawn/garden maintenance or groundskeeping (resort or strata preferred).
Comfortable with pool care basics (or willing to learn).
Safe operator with chemicals, power tools and small machinery.
Current driver's licence preferred.
Must have
full, unrestricted work rights in Australia
.
Hours & roster:
Approximately
hours per week
(typical shifts are
5–8 hours
; some early starts and occasional weekend work may be required).

Casual hourly rate + super (commensurate with experience).
