About the role:We are seeking an Intermediate or Senior Accountant to join our well-established firm in Goulburn.
This is a key role within the firm, offering the chance to manage client relationships, deliver high-quality compliance and advisory services, and mentor junior team members, while working closely with Partners.This position will suit someone who enjoys working with a diverse client base and is passionate about providing practical, value‐added accounting and tax advice.As an Accountant, you will take ownership of client engagements, preparing and reviewing financial statements and tax returns across a range of entities including individuals, companies, trusts, and self‐managed superannuation funds.
You will play a trusted advisory role for clients while ensuring compliance with Australian Accounting Standards, taxation legislation, and professional obligations.
You'll also support Partners with advisory work, contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, and provide technical guidance and mentoring to intermediate and junior staff.Key ResponsibilitiesOversee the preparation and review of financial statements for individuals, companies, trusts, and SMSFsPrepare and review income tax returns, BAS, FBT,



and other statutory compliance obligationsManage client relationships and respond to client queries in a timely, professional mannerLiaise with the ATO and other regulatory bodies as requiredAssist with tax planning, structuring, and advisory engagementsSupport Partners by identifying opportunities for value‐added servicesProvide technical leadership, mentoring, and on‐the‐job training to junior team membersContribute to continuous improvement of internal systems, processes, and quality control standardsManage multiple deadlines in a public practice environment while maintaining high-quality outcomesAbout you:CA or CPA qualified (or near completion)Proven experience in a public practice accounting environmentStrong technical knowledge of Australian tax and accounting standardsConfidence in managing client relationships and providing practical adviceExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsStrong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing deadlinesA team-oriented mindset and interest in mentoring and supporting team developmentBenefitsWorking for RSM entitles everyone to a wide range of leading health, wellness, financial and lifestyle perks.
