You'll help manage our various derivatives overlay programs, serving as a derivatives market expert, collaborating with investment teams to translate investment views into effective and meaningful overlay strategies across multiple asset classes.
Key Responsibilities
Shape derivative overlay program design and implementation to improve whole‐of‐portfolio risk‐adjusted returns over a multi‐year horizon.
Manage the full lifecycle of overlay transactions—from manager instructions through to settlement—coordinating seamlessly with operational teams.
Act as a derivatives SME for the organisation, communicating overlay structure, objectives and performance, and advising on derivative market access.
Actively source and communicate market developments, trading innovations, and strategic ideas; challenge the status quo.
Provide rigorous oversight of external manager execution quality, assessing best execution, pricing, and market impact.
Contribute to the development of systems and processes that enhance decision‐making quality,
risk management, and portfolio reporting.
About You
Experience in trading, portfolio management or risk management of derivatives, with a practical understanding of market microstructure, counterparty dynamics, and execution quality.
Buy‐side or sell‐side trading desk experience would be an advantage.
Solid collaborator who contributes ideas and insights to team‐based portfolio decisions, with an ability to provide considered input amid uncertainty and maintain a whole‐portfolio perspective.
Demonstrated quantitative and analytical capabilities—experience with derivative pricing/portfolio risk systems (e.g. Blackrock Aladdin) and a track record of enhancing systems, tools or analytical frameworks.
Exceptional attention to detail and operational rigour.
Clear, influential communicator who can explain complex overlay concepts to diverse stakeholders and build alignment around strategy changes.
