Role
Associate Water Resources Engineer – responsible for supporting the Water Resources team on NSW and wider ANZ projects, with a focus on flood risk management, waterway management, urban water management, and rural/irrigation water management.
Responsibilities
Conduct technical assessments and design to support water resource management projects.
Carry out peer reviews of engineering work.
Ensure that all analysis and design tasks meet appropriate technical standards and the requirements of both the client and SMEC.
Mentor and review the work of junior engineers.
Proactively collaborate with team members, clients, and stakeholders to maintain quality, timeliness, and coordination of project deliverables.
Apply project management principles to oversee assigned tasks and deliver projects to required standards within established timelines.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.




Minimum of 10+ years' experience in water resources management and/or design.
Experience with a range of hydrology and hydraulic modeling and design software.
Familiarity with relevant Australian Standards.
Ability to lead projects to achieve desirable outcomes.
Experience contributing to business development, industry activities, and networking.
Must have or be working towards obtaining mandatory compulsory mandating CPEng status.
