Infrastructure Portfolio Management Officer (Capability)

A large Queensland Government department is seeking an experiencedInfrastructure Portfolio Management Officerto join its Portfolio Management Office and play a key role in uplifting project and portfolio management capability across a significant infrastructure portfolio valued at approximately $2 billion annually.
This is an prospect to work at the centre of large-scale infrastructure investment, helping establish best-practice project delivery frameworks, governance approaches, capability programs and continuous improvement initiatives.
About the Role
Develop and improve portfolio and project management frameworks, methodologies and tools
Drive capability uplift initiatives, including training, coaching and communities of practice
Facilitate lessons learned and knowledge management activities
Support assurance reviews, maturity assessments and governance improvements
Analyse portfolio performance and identify opportunities to improve delivery outcomes




Influence stakeholders and embed consistent project delivery practices across the organisation
About You
Strong experience in portfolio management, program management or project delivery
Experience within infrastructure, capital works, asset-intensive or complex delivery environments
Expertise in project methodologies such as PMBOK, PRINCE2, MSP or similar
Experience leading capability uplift, enablement or continuous improvement initiatives
Exceptional stakeholder engagement, facilitation and communication skills
The ability to influence change and drive adoption of new ways of working
Highly Regarded
Government, transport, utilities, health or similar sector experience
PRINCE2, MSP, P3O or Lean/Six Sigma certifications
Experience with project reporting and portfolio tools such as Power BI, SharePoint, MS Project and Excel
This role would suit a PMO Lead, Portfolio Analyst, Portfolio Coordinator, Project Capability Lead or Project Management skilled looking to move into a role focused on capability, governance and continuous improvement.
