Big Chief Hire in Ormeau is seeking someone to fill a hands-on role where you’ll spend the majority of your time on-site, servicing and repairing earthmoving and heavy machinery at client locations across QLD.

What You Will Do

Travel to sites to service, maintain, and repair plant and machinery, including excavators, loaders, bulldozers, and other heavy equipmentDiagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults in the fieldConduct safety inspections and ensure machinery meets operational standardsMaintain accurate service records and document repairs thoroughlyWork independently while supporting the Big Chief teamWork professionally with our client ensuring they receive professional service delivery at all times

What You Will Bring

Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology, Plant & Machinery, or similar qualification1–3+ years of hands-on experience with heavy machinery or field service workStrong problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitudeValid driver’s licence (HR licence or higher preferred)Ability to work independently, travel to sites, and thrive in a field-based environmentSafety-first mindset with commitment to OH&S; compliance
