About the Role

As a Low-Intensity Mental Health Clinician, you’ll provide brief, evidence-based psychological interventions designed to improve wellbeing, build resilience, and support recovery. Working with clients experiencing concerns such as anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, and interpersonal challenges, you’ll deliver up to 10 sessions per client while helping connect people with the supports they need.

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct intake, assessment, treatment, and post‑intervention evaluations
- Deliver brief intervention and counselling approaches within a low‑intensity mental health framework
- Apply evidence‑based therapeutic practices tailored to individual client needs
- Monitor client progress and adjust interventions as required
- Identify and manage clinical risks professionally and in line with relevant guidelines
- Facilitate referrals and connect clients with appropriate community and specialist services
- Build and maintain collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, culturally and linguistically diverse communities, and LGBTQIA+ communities
- Balance clinical responsibilities with administrative requirements while managing your own workload

What You'll Bring

Essential

- A tertiary qualification (completed or nearing completion) in Counselling, Psychology, Social Work, Health, Nursing, Human Services, Community Development, or a related field




- Experience or a strong interest in working with vulnerable and marginalised populations
- Knowledge of, or interest in, low‑intensity mental health assessment and intervention
- Understanding of relevant legislation and professional frameworks guiding human services delivery
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A collaborative, non‑judgemental, and client‑centred approach
- Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
- A current Australian Driver’s Licence
- Eligibility to obtain a Blue Card (Working with Children Check)

Desirable

- Knowledge of local services and community supports
- Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, culturally and linguistically diverse communities, and LGBTQIA+ communities
