The First Nations Cancer and Wellbeing Research team within the School of Public Health is looking for casual Senior Research Assistants to support the First Nations Cancer & Wellbeing Research Program. The Can Co Study explores the cancer care experiences of First Nations peoples and their carers.

This casual position offers an hourly rate of $55.36 plus superannuation of 12% (HEW Level 5) and will be based at our Herston location.

Key Responsibilities

- Conducting telephone interviews with study participants
- Coordinating and scheduling interviews respectfully and efficiently
- Building rapport and maintaining culturally protected, ethical interactions
- Accurately recording and managing research data

About You

- Degree or diploma in public health, health services, or related field, or equivalent experience
- Experience conducting qualitative interviews, ideally via telephone
- Strong communication skills with a respectful, participant-centred approach
- Highly organised with the ability to work independently
- Sound judgement and initiative in a research environment
- Understanding of confidentiality and ethical research practices
- Experience in similar roles or qualitative research is highly regarded
