Mechanical Fitter - Villawood

Mechanical Fitter at CSR in Villawood. Shift options: 6:00am–2:00pm or 2:00pm–10:00pm.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager and working as part of the maintenance team, you will:

- Understand the full manufacturing process and product quality requirements to identify critical equipment and processes.
- Troubleshoot plant and equipment issues, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions.
- Apply fine tolerances when fitting bearings, gears, seals, punches, and extrusion die assemblies.
- Complete all work to required specifications, ensuring documentation is accurate and on time.
- Read and interpret mechanical assembly drawings with confidence.
- Inspect, analyse, and record critical mechanical data during preventative maintenance, including wear, damage, and comparisons to standard drawings.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work setting, inspecting equipment prior to use.
- Manage maintenance tasks by correctly storing spare parts and creating work orders for urgent repairs.

Qualifications

- Mechanical trade licence or similar (Fitter/turner, Boilermaker, Plant mechanic, HV Diesel Mechanic)



with experience as a Fitter in a manufacturing environment.
- Previous exposure within industrial manufacturing with routine & breakdown experience.
- Confined space, WAH, EWP, Forklift licence and D&R; licence is highly desirable.
- Strong commitment to safety, consistently applying WHSE practices.
- SAP maintenance system proficiency would be advantageous; training will be provided.
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
- A hands‑on attitude, strong problem‑solving skills, with the ability to work autonomously or as part of a team.
