Position: Fruit Picker Availability: Minimum Full time 38 hours a week Farm Location: 104 Catherine Rd, Mutchilba QLD 4872 Salary: $65,000 - $80,000 + Superannuation per annum Our client RAI FAMILY TRUST is an established and highly regarded commercial farming enterprise operating multiple farms across NSW region. The business is expanding and seeking dedicated agricultural team to join its growing workforce at growing region of Queensland.
The farm is in Far North Queensland. Job Responsibility: Perform manual harvesting of crops in accordance with farm production requirements, ensuring quality standards, safety compliance, and efficient harvesting operations under supervision.
Main Duties:
- Manually harvest seasonal and tropical crops according to picking schedules and quality standards
- Inspect, sort, and grade crops/fruits during harvesting to ensure only market-quality produce is collected
- Discard or separate damaged, unripe, or low-quality produce as per farm requirements
- Operate basic harvesting tools and equipment such as picking bags, ladders, and containers safely
- Collect and place harvested fruit into bins, crates, or containers for transport and storage
- Follow supervisor instructions regarding picking methods, sequences, and daily production targets
- Maintain required picking speed and efficiency while ensuring fruit quality standards are met
- Comply with workplace health and safety requirements, including PPE usage and hygiene standards
- Work safely in outdoor and tropical farm conditions, including heat and weather exposure
- Assist in maintaining cleanliness and organisation of harvesting areas
- Report crop damage, equipment faults, or safety hazards to the supervisor immediately
- Support post-harvest handling activities such as basic sorting and packing when required
- Work cooperatively with other farm workers and supervisors to meet production deadlines
Minimum Requirements:
- AQF Certificate
I or Higher
- 1-3 years of experience in related field
