Remuneration Package

Package valued up to $182,461 + incentives (where applicable). Base salary ranges from $101,122 - $160,983 plus leave loading and employer’s contribution to superannuation. Rural and remote incentives of $20,000 to $30,000 per annum available for eligible positions.

Key Accountabilities

- Provides counselling and psychological services to students individually and in groups, including short‑term therapeutic interventions within the constraints of training, experience, and supervision
- Engages and implements the procedures of the NSW School Counselling Service Professional Practice Framework
- Works with school leadership and staff to improve student learning and wellbeing outcomes and implement departmental priorities
- Supports students with complex behavioural needs and contributes to their social, emotional and academic development
- Administers cognitive, social, emotional and behavioural assessments, reports results, and collaborates to improve outcomes
- Works collaboratively with support teams, parents, carers and agencies to develop appropriate school‑based support
- Responds as part of a team to assist schools experiencing serious incidents
- Refers students and families to other agencies when appropriate

Essential Requirements

- Knowledge and commitment to the Department’s Aboriginal Education Policy, Partnership Agreement with NSW AECG Inc.,



and the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Strategy
- General or Provisional registration with the Psychology Board of Australia
- Valid and current Working with Children Check clearance – NSW
- Valid driver’s licence and ability to travel between work sites; willingness to drive oneself
- Australian citizenship or permanent residency
- Experience in counselling using evidence‑based interventions and understanding of mental health needs of children and young people
- Experience in psychological assessment of children and young people, including case formulation and report writing
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with stakeholders to improve learning and wellbeing outcomes for students from diverse backgrounds and needs
