Winnellie, NT Hays Accounting & Finance are proud to be partnering with a well-established, family-owned Northern Territory business to recruit an Accounts Manager to join their team in Darwin. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a diverse local organisation with operations spanning multiple industries, including primary production, hospitality and tourism, retail, and commercial property. Offering a hands‑on role with broad responsibility, this position will suit an experienced accounting professional who enjoys variety and working closely with business leaders.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Payroll functions
- Monitor daily cash flow and maintain solid financial controls
- Manage debtor control and collections processes
- Administer intercompany and intra-group transactions
- Prepare employment contracts and support employment administration activities
- Assist with financial reporting, activity statements, payroll tax and statutory compliance requirements
- Support process improvement initiatives and contribute to efficient financial operations
- Work closely with Directors and senior stakeholders across the business
About You
- Previous experience in a Finance Manager, Accounts Manager or senior accounting position
- Strong understanding of accounting operations within a complex business environment
- Experience managing payroll, accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
- Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience
- Excellent organisational, communication and time management skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to manage competing priorities and multiple stakeholders
- Experience with Xero is highly regarded
- Reliable, proactive and willing to get involved across all areas of the business
