About Opportunity

Our client is seeking a Test Lead to lead and coordinate end-to-end testing activities across digital transformation initiatives, including complex cross-agency projects involving multiple stakeholders, systems, and integration points. The role will be responsible for developing and driving the overall testing strategy, overseeing testing across all phases (system, integration, UAT, and production verification), and ensuring quality outcomes through effective governance, traceability, and risk management.

This position requires strong leadership, stakeholder engagement, and coordination skills to ensure testing activities are delivered efficiently and aligned with program objectives.

As part of the Digital Transformation Program, you will contribute to a major Northern Territory Government initiative focused on modernising worker screening processes to support safer communities. Working within a complex multi-agency setting, you will play a key role in the successful delivery of reform outcomes through the implementation of legislative, business process, and digital system changes.

- Provide high-level leadership, coordination, and oversight for the delivery of project deliverables within scope.
- Lead and manage testing across the full project lifecycle, ensuring alignment with delivery timelines and quality standards.
- Develop and maintain test strategies, plans, schedules, and reporting artefacts.
- Coordinate testing activities across project teams, vendors, and business stakeholders.
- Review requirements and specifications to ensure comprehensive test coverage.
- Oversee test design, execution, defect management, and resolution processes.
- Provide clear, data-driven reporting on testing progress, risks, and outcomes.
- Identify, manage, and escalation testing risks, issues, and dependencies.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of testing practices and governance.

Essential Skills and Experience

- Tertiary qualifications in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, with ISTQB (or equivalent) certification.
- Proven experience leading testing within large, complex ICT environments involving integrations and multi-system landscapes.
- Strong expertise in test strategy, planning, execution, and defect management.
- Experience using test and defect management tools (e.g. Jira or equivalent).
- Solid understanding of SDLC methodologies across multiple testing phases.
- Ability to interpret functional and technical requirements to ensure effective test coverage.
- Experience coordinating across multiple stakeholders, vendors, and business units.
- Demonstrated capability in managing testing risks, issues, dependencies, and reporting.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with experience resolving complex defects.
- Working knowledge of SQL Server or similar data platforms.
- Proven accountability in reporting testing outcomes to project and governance stakeholders.

Desirable Skills and Experience

- Experience delivering within government or highly regulated environments.
- Experience in policing, justice, emergency services, or similar operational domains.
