Location:

Lead the Department of Health’s cybersecurity governance, risk and compliance function, managing a specialist team to strengthen cyber resilience, drive risk management and assurance activities, and provide expert advice to support secure and compliant health services across Tasmania.

The Team:

The Cybersecurity Services unit safeguards the Department of Health’s people, systems and data so Tasmanians can safely access trusted health services. We provide enterprise‑wide cyber risk management, security operations, incident response and assurance across clinical, corporate and digital health environments. Working closely with clinicians, ICT teams and partners, we enable secure innovation, protect sensitive information and strengthen resilience against evolving cyber threats across the Tasmanian health system.

The Role:

As Manager, Cybersecurity Governance, Risk and Compliance, you will lead a small specialist team shaping how cybersecurity risk is managed across the Department of Health. You’ll drive enterprise‑wide cyber governance, policy and assurance activities, provide trusted advice to senior leaders, and strengthen accountability and compliance aligned with industry best practice. Working closely with clinical, digital health and corporate stakeholders, you’ll champion a proactive cyber risk management culture while managing people, budgets and priorities in a complex, high‑impact workplace supporting essential public health services.

You will need:

- Demonstrated high-level specialised expertise, knowledge, and experience in the effective development, implementation, and management of complex cybersecurity governance, risk, and compliance matters within a large organisation, focusing on the people, process, and technology aspects.
- High level strategic, conceptual, analytical and creative skills, with both the ability to understand and make sound judgements about the political, social, and organisational environment impacting on the Agency,



and a comprehensive understanding of contemporary cybersecurity issues and trends, with demonstrable commitment to ensuring continued relevancy.
- Demonstrated experience and capacity to provide specialised advice regarding complex cybersecurity, issues, and risks, together with the ability to recommend options and solutions in a clear and concise manner to a range of audiences.

Details of appointment:

Permanent, full time, day worker position, working 76hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.

*Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

$128,102 to $134,832 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

- Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022.

- Appropriate tertiary qualifications in business management, ICT, information management or a cybersecurity related discipline.
- A security clearance of Negative Vetting 1 (Secret) or the ability to obtain one.
