The Role
This is a standalone Payroll & HR Officer position where you'll take ownership of the end-to-end payroll function for approximately 150 employees across two payrolls. Alongside payroll, you'll manage HR administration, employee contracts, compliance and reporting, becoming a trusted point of contact for staff across the school.
This role is much more than processing payroll. They're looking for someone who enjoys understanding the bigger picture, building relationships, improving processes and taking pride in delivering an exceptional service to staff.
Key Responsibilities
- End-to-end payroll processing across two payrolls
- Processing leave, superannuation,
salary packaging and STP reporting
- Payroll reconciliations and year-end processing
- Preparing employment contracts and contract variations
- Managing Working With Children Check compliance
- Payroll reporting, audits and budgeting support
- Supporting staff with payroll and HR enquiries
- Identifying opportunities to improve payroll processes and reporting
Skills and Experience
- Minimum 3-5 years' experience in end-to-end payroll
- Strong knowledge of payroll legislation, awards and enterprise agreements
- Experience managing payroll autonomously
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Payroll system experience (Synergetic highly regarded) but not required
