About the RoleAs a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Medical Education, you’ll play a key role in delivering high‑quality teaching and assessment across the Foundation Years (Years 1-3) of our MBBS program. You’ll contribute to curriculum development, module coordination, and innovative approaches to learning that support diverse student cohorts. The role also encourages active engagement in research aligned with the College’s strategic priorities.This position is based at our Cairns campus and includes opportunities to collaborate with colleagues across the region.What You’ll Be DoingDeliver engaging teaching and assessment across topics such as rural medicine, emergency medicine, rural generalism, global health, the Australian health system and general practice.Contribute to the ongoing development, evaluation and review of the Foundation Years curriculum.Support teaching in other undergraduate programs within the College.Coordinate modules or subjects as required.Participate in research and help build a collaborative research program.Champion equity, diversity, inclusion and reconciliation within the University community.
What You’ll Bring EssentialA postgraduate qualification in medicine, nursing, allied health or clinical sciences.Expertise in one or more of the following: rural health, emergency medicine, rural generalism, global health,



general practice or the Australian health system.Demonstrated experience in teaching within undergraduate or postgraduate health education, with evidence of teaching quality.Experience designing or using educational technologies and online delivery methods.A record of research, publications or conference presentations relevant to the College’s priorities.Strong communication, organisational and time‑management skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
To be appointed at Level CSubstantial undergraduate teaching experience and leadership in academic settings.A research profile with national or international recognition.
