ELA and NiQ Health are seeking a reliable and customer-focused Cable Installation Technician to join our team in Perth. ELA has over 50 years of experience in designing, installing, and supporting low-voltage electronic systems across Western Australia. We partner closely with NiQ Health, a leader in advanced CarePlus™ nurse call, RTLS, and care management systems for hospitals, acute care, and aged care facilities.
You will install and maintain cabling, nurse call systems, and related low-voltage equipment in healthcare and other facilities. This is a hands-on field role involving cable runs, terminations, basic system setup, and troubleshooting. Full on-the-job training will be provided — no trade qualification is required. We value practical handyman skills and a willingness to learn our specialist systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Running and terminating data, communications, and low-voltage cabling in new and existing sites.
- Installing and supporting NiQ Health CarePlus™ nurse call and related systems (training provided).
- Basic system testing and commissioning under supervision.
- Working safely and cleanly in healthcare environments (hospitals, aged care, etc.).
- Providing excellent customer service during installations and site visits.
What You'll Bring:
- Must live in Perth, WA with your own reliable vehicle and a current Australian driver’s license.
- Practical handyman skills and experience using hand tools.
- Your own basic set of hand tools (we’ll supply specialist tools and equipment).
- Ability and willingness to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong customer service and communication skills — you’ll be dealing directly with clients, nurses, and facility staff.
- A positive attitude and a good sense of humor (life’s too short not to enjoy the job!).
- Must have Police Clearance
No formal trade certificate is needed — we’re looking for someone practical, reliable, and personable who takes pride in doing quality work.
What We Offer
- Comprehensive on-the-job training and ongoing support.
- A stable, long-term role with a well-established Perth company.
- Variety of work across compelling healthcare projects.
- Supportive team environment with a focus on work-life balance.
- Vehicle and tool allowance opportunities.
If you’re a handy, independent problem-solver who enjoys working with people and learning new technology, we’d love to hear from you!
How to Apply Please send your resume and a short cover note telling us why you’d be a great fit.
