Programmed is seeking a Forklift Driver/Machine Operator to join our team in Clovelly Park, SA. This is a casual position offering flexibility for the right candidate. In this role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of forklifts and other material handling equipment within our logistics and warehousing operations. You will play a crucial part in maintaining smooth warehouse operations and ensuring goods are handled safely and professionally. This position is integral to supporting our distribution and logistics activities.
Key responsibilities
1. Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently in accordance with workplace health and safety standards
2. Load, unload and move goods within the warehouse, ensuring materials are properly secured and stored
3. Conduct pre-operation inspections of equipment to identify and report any mechanical issues or safety concerns
4. Maintain accurate records of materials moved, including quantity and location tracking
5. Follow all warehouse procedures and protocols to maintain a safe working setting
6. Assist with inventory management and organisation of storage areas
7. Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding warehouse operations and safety matters
8. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the warehouse and equipment areas
What we're looking for
1. Current and valid forklift license/certification (High Risk Work License or equivalent). An LO ticket will be highly desirable.
2. Proven experience operating forklifts and material handling equipment in a warehouse or logistics environment
3. Strong understanding of workplace health and safety principles and commitment to safe work practices
4. Ability to work accurately and efficiently,
with attention to detail when handling materials
5. Good communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team
6. Physical fitness and capability to perform manual handling tasks
7. Reliability and punctuality, with the flexibility to accommodate casual work arrangements
8. Basic computer literacy for warehouse management systems (desirable but not essential)
9. Experience with inventory management systems or warehouse operations software is a plus
