South Burnett Regional Council is one of the largest employers within the region, with offices and depots located in Kingaroy, Nanango, Wondai, Murgon, Proston and Blackbutt.

About the Region
The South Burnett Region is ideally situated just 2 - 3 hours' drive to Brisbane, Toowoomba, Sunshine Coast and Fraser Coast. The region is home to the stunning Bunya Mountains, where you can enjoy spectacular rainforest walks, nights by the fire in hidden chalets and the best scenic views Queensland has to offer. About the role
- Based in Kingaroy
- Permanent - Full Time
- $81K - $85K per annum + Allowances + Super
Council is seeking a Supervisor to lead work teams and coordinate the operation of Councils Water and Wastewater maintenance works for reticulation. This role involves undertaking labouring duties to construct and repair broken water mains, prepare work sites, lay pipework and install or replace water meters. The position will also be responsible for responding to customer requests and operating a range of plant/equipment, plan, prioritise, coordinate and implement work programs and the day to-day maintenance operations for the team, this includes overseeing the maintenance of public amenities, parks, landscapes and open space. The successful applicant will possess substantial experience and knowledge of water supply, sewerage operations with a good understanding of current standards. Demonstrated leadership capability, the ability to manage competing priorities and coordinate multiple teams, together with solid communication and computer skills, are essential.
Mandatory Qualifications
- Certificate III in Water and Wastewater (Operations or Treatment) or other equivalent field (e.g., Plumbing) with relevant experience and competence to perform the duties.
- Minimum requirement of a current C Class driver’s licence
- General Safety Induction for Construction Worker (White Card)

- A Trade qualification (Fitter, Plumbing)

Skills and experience

2. High level of technical and operational knowledge of water supply and sewerage operations and associated maintenance activities.

4. A good understanding of current standards, processes and procedures as they relate to water and wastewater.
5. Ability to act independently and solve problems quickly and decisively at all times, exercising good judgements and technical skills.
