We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our firm in a key technical role.This position is ideal for an experienced public practice accountant who enjoys tax and technical matters and wants to be the go‑to expert supporting partners, managers, team members and clients.
What you’ll doProvide technical advice across tax and accounting matters, including:Business and tax structuringTrust taxation and distributionsDivision 7A, CGT and small business concessionsGST, FBT, payroll tax and state‑based taxesTax planningBudgets and forecastingFinancial analysisPrepare and review financial statements and tax returnsReview work prior to Partner sign‑off and manage technical riskAct as the firm’s technical escalation pointSupport advisory,
restructuring and ATO audit mattersMentor staff and deliver internal technical trainingMonitor legislative and ATO developments and communicate impacts firm‑wideProvide exceptional customer service by telephone, email and meetings as requiredAbout you7+ years’ experience in Australian public practiceCA or CPA qualified (CTA highly regarded)Advanced knowledge of Australian tax legislation and accounting standardsSignificant experience managing teams and overseeing workflow processes.A proven track record of reviewing work to a high standard, ensuring it is partner sign-off ready.Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with the ability to manage and develop team members effectively.Extensive client-facing experience and the confidence to manage client relationships independently.Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, as a high level of client interaction is a key requirement of the role.
