About the Role

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career in drill and blast and work alongside experienced industry professionals.

As a Blast Crew Member, you will play an important role in supporting the protected and efficient delivery of blasting operations. Working closely with Shotfirers and site leadership, you will assist with blast preparation, loading and quality assurance activities while maintaining the highest safety standards.

What you'll need

Experience

- Experience in drill and blast operations or a similar mining environment.
- Blast pattern mark-up and delineation experience.
- Hole dipping, depth recording and blast map updating.
- Experience loading and stemming blast holes.
- Exposure to blast tie-in support activities.
- A strong commitment to safety and the ZERO Harm culture

Skills & Attributes

- Ability to read blast designs and accurately mark-up blast patterns.




- Strong attention to detail with QA/QC data recording.
- Understanding of blast guarding and exclusion zone requirements.
- Proactive approach to hazard identification and reporting.
- Strong commitment to safety and teamwork.
- Reliable work ethic and willingness to learn.
- Ability to work effectively in remote FIFO environments.

Key Responsibilities

- Blast pattern mark-up and delineation.
- Hole dipping, depth recording and blast map updates.
- Loading and stemming of blast holes.
- Assisting with blast tie-in activities under supervision.
- Conducting blast hole quality checks and reporting variances.
- Supporting exclusion zone establishment and blast guarding activities.
- Maintaining accurate QA/QC records.
- Identifying and reporting hazards and improvement opportunities.
- Ensuring compliance with all site safety, environmental and operational procedures.

Essential Requirements

- Current C Class Drivers Licence (essential)
- HR Driver's Licence (Desirable)
- Dangerous Goods Security Card (essential)
- Current First Aid & CPR Certificate
- National Police Clearance within 3 months (or ability to obtain)
- As part of the recruitment process, applicants will undergo Pre-Employment Medical Testing, including Drug and Alcohol screening. Successful candidates will also be subject to random screenings while on assignment.
