We are seeking an inspirational senior leader to take on this pivotal position of Head of Primary, who will play a central role in shaping this next chapter. As part of our College Leadership Team, you will contribute to strengthening our Catholic identity, enriching our community, and advancing a forward‑looking vision for teaching and learning across the Primary College.

About the Role

The Head of Primary is a key member of the College Leadership Team, providing strategic and operational leadership of the Primary School in alignment with the College’s Catholic mission and Mercy & Edmund Rice charisms.

This is a highly influential position, responsible for fostering excellence in teaching and learning, championing student wellbeing, and ensuring every child is supported to grow academically, spiritually and socially. You will lead curriculum development, staff formation and day‑to‑day operations, cultivating a collaborative, inclusive and high‑performing Primary community.

Working closely with the Principal, the position contributes to strategic planning, innovation and continuous improvement, ensuring compliance with system requirements and the effective delivery of College priorities. The role calls for a leader who embodies our values of compassion and excellence, promoting a faith-filled, inclusive and future-focused learning environment.

This is a full-time, ongoing position starting in Term 1, 2027.

Key Responsibilities

Student Wellbeing & Pastoral Care

You will champion a whole‑school approach to wellbeing, creating a secure,



inclusive and nurturing environment where every child can thrive. This includes leading wellbeing programs, overseeing behaviour and engagement processes, and supporting staff in responding to student needs, including Students With Disability. You will work collaboratively with counsellors and support teams to ensure Duty of Care is upheld at all times.

Staff Leadership & Development

You will lead, mentor and inspire Primary staff, building a cohesive, high‑performing team aligned with the College’s mission and strategic direction. This includes overseeing induction, appraisal and performance development, fostering a culture of collaboration and reflective practice, and identifying professional learning opportunities. You will actively build leadership capacity within the Primary team.

Community Engagement

You will cultivate strong, positive relationships with students, families and the wider community, ensuring the Primary School is welcoming, inclusive and connected. You will communicate effectively with families, support parent engagement initiatives such as the APA and Advisory Council, and coordinate key events including information evenings, transitions and celebrations. You will represent the College in the broader community and contribute to enrolment processes.

Leadership & Strategic Contribution

As a member of the College Leadership Team, you will contribute to strategic planning, innovation and whole‑school improvement. You will provide strategic leadership for the Primary Campus, lead change initiatives, and use data and reflection to guide planning and decision‑making. Your work will align closely with the College’s Strategic Plan and School Improvement Plan.

Operations & Stewardship

You will oversee the smooth day‑to‑day running of the Primary Campus, ensuring effective systems, policies and procedures are in place. This includes compliance with CEWA and legislative requirements, managing staffing and timetabling, contributing to financial planning,



and ensuring resources and facilities are used effectively. You will promote a safe and compliant work environment and uphold WHS responsibilities.

Qualifications & Requirements

- Current TRBWA registration

- Minimum five years relevant educational experience (or equivalent exposure in education sector leadership)

- Ability to demonstrate appropriate competencies in the leadership framework within the school environment

- Accreditation to for Leadership in a Catholic School

- Current Working with Children Check

- Commitment to CEWA Child‑Safe Framework
