Thomas McWilliam is proud to be partnering with a well-respected local business in Bathurst, currently seeking a Bookkeeper to join their growing team. Candidates with a finance, accounting, or payroll background are encouraged to apply.

The ideal candidate would work 4-5 days per week, in the Bathurst office within standard business hours.
What We’re Looking For:
- Qualifications & Experience: Previous experience in finance, accounting, or payroll, with transferable skills relevant to bookkeeping. Certificate IV in Bookkeeping or Accounting is desirable but not essential.
- Technical Skills: Advanced user of Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft Office suite. Experienced in Xero, MYOB, and other accounting software, or willing to learn.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a professional and client-focused approach.
- Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and strong attention to detail are essential.
- Organisational Skills: Strong time management and organisational abilities, with the capacity to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
- Multitasking Ability: Proven track record of managing multiple clients and effectively handling competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
The Role:
This is a energetic role offering the opportunity to work closely with a range of clients while supporting them in running their businesses more efficiently and compliantly. Duties may include:
- Recording Financial Transactions: Maintain and update financial records, including purchases, sales, receipts, and payments. This involves entering data into accounting software and general ledgers.
- Managing Accounts: Oversee accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections. This includes processing invoices and managing payroll.
- Preparing Financial Statements: Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including balance sheets and income statements.
- Reconciling Accounts: Regularly reconcile bank statements and financial records to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
- Ensuring Compliance: Maintain compliance with relevant laws and regulations, including tax filings and financial reporting standards.
- Assisting in Budgeting: Help prepare budgets and forecasts by analysing financial data and trends.
