About the role
Campbell Scientific Australia is seeking a Project Manager to join our team in Townsville, Queensland. This role is primarily responsible for managing strategic programs and projects related to Aviation Weather and National Meteorological and Hydrological Services (NMHS) across the Australian and Oceania region
A key responsibility of the position is to engage with the global Program Management Office (PMO), providing regional feedback and updates on processes, products, and project requirements. Strong customer service and stakeholder management skills are essential,
as the role serves as the primary point of contact for clients throughout project execution and implementation, including occasional face-to-face engagement when required.
What you'll be doing
- Play a key role in delivering projects in alignment with Campbell Scientific’s ARCTIC values – Accountability, Respect, Client-Centric, Teamwork, Innovation, and Continuous Improvement.
- Develop and manage project plans, schedules, and budgets to ensure successful project delivery
- Coordinate and collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering teams, suppliers, aviation authorities, clients, and regulatory bodies
- Communicate project status, issues, and progress to key stakeholders
- Monitor project risks, issues, and dependencies, and implement mitigation strategies to ensure successful outcomes.
- Support and lead responses to tenders, including technical documentation, compliance requirements, solution design, and coordination with internal teams.
- Ensure project documentation, reporting, and communication meet internal governance and client requirements.
- Ensure project deliverables meet or exceed customer requirements and expectations
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to project delivery, technical standards, and customer satisfaction.
What we're looking for

- Demonstrates leadership and organisational skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and take a collaborative approach
- An ability to quickly absorb and understand complex information
- Sound knowledge in General Science or an affiliation with a scientific related field preferable
