Fox Personnel have been appointed by one of our customers to assist with recruitment for a Timber Processor.
This is a temporary position with the potential to develop into a long-term/permanent role for the right candidate.
We're looking for a hands-on Timber Processor to join a busy production team.
This role covers measuring, cutting, and drilling timber to detailed drawings, along with finishing, packaging, and dispatch preparation of finished goods.
You'll report to the Team Leader and work closely with the Production Coordinator, Team Leaders, and Dispatch Officers.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete timber processes as per Works Order, as instructed by the Team Leader
- Accurately measure, cut, and drill timbers as per detailed drawings supplied with Works Orders
- Assist with the preparation of timber - all aspects (e.g. cutting, drilling, and staining) according to Works Orders
- Ensure correct coatings and colours (galvanising, powder coating, etc.) are completed to customer specifications as per Works Order
- Ensure correct packaging materials are used for individual orders
- Ensure packaging of all finished products is of a high standard to avoid damage through transit
- Ensure all component parts are included, for example nuts, bolts,
and other fixings
- Assemble finished goods in preparation for dispatch
- Load and unload transport carriers as required
- Liaise with the Team Leader regarding dispatch dates of goods on a daily basis
- Liaise with the Team Leader to maintain adequate stock levels of timber/timber components
- Complete Works Order Inspection Sheets on completion of works
- Maintain a clean and secure working environment
- Ensure all duties are carried out in a safe manner
- Follow all relevant Quality Procedures and Work Instructions according to the Company's Quality System
- Identify problems and help initiate/coordinate corrective actions to prevent non-conformities relating to product, process, and Quality System
- Other duties as required
Role Requirements
- Experience with power tools
- Sound understanding and interpretation of engineering specifications and drawings
- Trades background
- Current Forklift License preferred
