Job Description

Description Our Client MATTHEW C. SMITH RACING PTY LIMITED is seeking two experienced Horse Trainers to join their team located in Warwick Farm NSW, 2170. This role involves training and preparing thoroughbred racehorses, ensuring their fitness, welfare, and race readiness. Responsibilities

- Plan, develop, and implement individualised training programs for racehorses to optimise their performance and fitness on the track.
- Oversee and actively participate in daily trackwork, including galloping, pacing, and barrier practice, ensuring horses are adequately prepared for race conditions.
- Monitor and manage the health, diet, and overall well-being of all horses under care, coordinating with veterinarians and farriers to address any health or soundness issues.
- Supervise and train stable staff, including track riders and stablehands, ensuring high standards of care, safety and operational efficiency within the stable.
- Prepare horses for race days, which includes organising transport, gear, and race-day routines to ensure optimal performance.
- Communicate regularly with owners, providing detailed updates on their horses' progress, training plans, and race outcomes.




- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of training schedules, veterinary treatments, and race results to track performance and compliance.
- Ensure strict compliance with all racing rules, regulations, and animal welfare standards set by the relevant authorities.

Qualifications Applicants must hold a relevant qualification and have at least two years of relevant full-time work experience in a similar role. Job Benefits Competitive salary of $80000 per annum plus 12% superannuation. Excellent working conditions in a agile and supportive environment.
