We are looking for a self-motivated, experienced, and passionate Coxswain to work as part of our Piling Team to assist with our expanding workload!

The position…

You will be required to operate vessels of various sizes whilst "pushing" our piling barges to site and then maneuverer them into position for piling work. Working as part of a two (2) person team, Marine Pile Installation and assisting an experienced excavator operator to install various type of piles is fundamental to this role. Additionally, maintaining the vessels and / or piling barge to ensure safe, efficient and effective operations will also be a requirement of the job.

Additionally, from time to time you will also be required to "push" pontoons and gangways from boat ramps to customers properties and become part of the Installation Team whereby you will install the pontoon, gangway and accessories for our customers to a very high standard. Being competent in the operation or hand, battery and power tools is also fundamental to the role.

When not doing any of the above, you will be required to assist other Team Members in the manufacture of different types of berthing structures, mainly pontoons and the installation of concrete abutment blocks. This includes minor steel fixing, concreting, carpeting and detail work. You don't need any previous experience for this work as we will teach you the ropes.

NOTE: Please do not apply for this role if you have just obtained your Coxswain Ticket as this role requires someone with experience and who has the confidence to maneuver work boats and barges through tight waterways/canals and marinas.





This position offers a 4-day, 38 hour work week Monday to Thursday with the possibility of overtime as required either on those for days or on a Friday.

Main responsibilities…

- Take charge of and operate vessels, specifically relating to piling work or pontoon installation, with a focus on workplace health and safety guidelines

- Installation of piles for marina projects predominately in SEQ and from time to time further afield including interstate

- Piles will consist of spun concrete, steel tube, timber and cast in-situ concrete PVC

- Installation of HDPE piles sleeves to be installed over steel or concrete piles

- Liaise with contractors and GCMarine management to co-ordinate onsite, relocation activities

- Everything and anything to do with the manufacture and installation of marine berthing systems

You will have and be…

- Current and up-to-date Grade 3 Coxswain ticket or higher - Must have requirement

- Mechanical minded for maintenance and minor repair work

- The ability to read and understand plans for the purpose of installing piles, concrete abutment blocks and / or pontoons

- Current Drivers License

- Enthusiasm, experience, and confidence.

- Confidence in your ability to move work boats and barges within the busy waterways from location to location

- First-rate communication and presentation skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at varying levels

- Self-motivated with an excellent interpersonal and skilled skills

- The ability to get yourself to work and / or the job site on time

- Well presented to proudly represent the GCMarine brand

- Australian citizenship required for this position
