Role overview

Podiatrists working within Carevo’s network provide foot and lower limb care to NDIS participants and aged care recipients in their homes and residential facilities across Australia and nearby areas. Rather than seeing clients in a clinic, you travel to them, which means you are assessing and treating people in their actual living setting.

Day‑to‑day responsibilities include general nail care, skin treatments, wound assessment and management, biomechanical assessments, orthotic prescription and fitting, and education on foot health and self‑monitoring. Diabetic foot management is a significant part of the work, particularly in aged care settings, where early detection of complications can prevent serious outcomes.

Other duties include writing clinical notes and contributing to NDIS or aged care documentation. If a client’s foot health intersects with other health concerns, you may communicate with their GP or other treating practitioners.

Who you would support

Your clients will typically be older Australians receiving services through the Support at Home program or Commonwealth Home Support Programme, and NDIS participants who have listed podiatry as a funded support. People with diabetes, peripheral vascular disease, neuropathy,



or physical disability often have significant podiatric needs that are best addressed through regular, accessible care.

Many of the people you see in Australia will not have easy access to clinic‑based podiatry, so mobile service delivery makes a genuine difference to their health outcomes.

Pay and working arrangements

Pay and contracting arrangements vary depending on your experience, whether you operate as a sole trader or through an employment arrangement with a provider, and the specific clients involved. Carevo does not set rates. Those conversations happen directly between you and the provider who contacts you.

Required qualifications

- Bachelor or Master’s degree in Podiatry from an accredited Australian institution
- Current AHPRA registration as a Podiatrist




- Experience in general foot care, nail pathology, and biomechanical assessment
- Competence in diabetic foot management and wound care
- Ability to work independently in home and community settings
- Reliable vehicle and current driver’s licence for mobile service delivery
- Experience with NDIS participants or aged care recipients (preferred)
- Professional Indemnity Insurance (or willingness to obtain)
