Join our Arts, Culture and Tourism team and help tell the stories that connect our community with the incredible places, events and experiences across Lake Macquarie.
As our Digital Communications Assistant, you will support the delivery of engaging digital content across social media, websites and e-newsletters, helping showcase everything from exhibitions and events to tourism and community initiatives.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build their career in digital communications, marketing or content creation while working alongside an experienced and supportive team.
What you'll be doing
- Creating, scheduling and publishing engaging social media content.
- Assisting with website updates and content management.
- Supporting the production and distribution of e-newsletters.
- Monitoring social media channels and responding to customer enquiries.
- Working collaboratively with the Arts, Culture and Tourism team to promote programs, events and community initiatives.
- Following Council's social media guidelines and digital communication processes.

Conditions of Employment include:
- May operate across departmental service delivery, Monday through to Sunday; 8.00 am to 9.00 pm.
- Occasional travel across multiple work sites within the LGA

You're a creative and proactive communicator who enjoys identifying opportunities to engage and connect with diverse audiences. You're resourceful and solutions-focused, with the confidence to resolve issues and customer enquiries using sound judgement, creativity and previous experience.

You’ll bring:
- Experience engaging with social media and digital communications within a professional context.
- Developed oral and written communication skills
- Experience in website content management.
- The ability to work effectively in a team environment.
