As the Refrigeration Mechanic/HVAC Technician you will perform maintenance and repair to equipment associated with the HVAC infrastructure at OASIS. This includes, but is not limited to, maintenance of large chillers, DX refrigeration equipment, chilled water-cooling systems, residential air conditioning systems and the air conditioning systems of its vehicle fleet. Scope of work will range from minor and major repairs, servicing and where necessary replacement of equipment.
Applicants must be a U.S. citizen who has a TS/SCI or an Australian Citizen who can obtain the appropriate level of security clearance.
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
- Performing maintenance tasks as required. Scheduled or repairs.
- Performing tasks for project type work as required on an ad hoc basis.
- Planning of tools, equipment, assistance and materials needed to complete tasks.
- Liaising with others to notify and organize tasks to be undertaken as required.
- Ensuring as much as is possible that equipment is maintained to operate in a secure manner.
- Reporting any incidents via chain of command to Management as a priority.
- Use of computer systems to record and plan work tasks.
- Assisting in all areas of Facilities Maintenance from as required, not limited to HV switching, cleaning of mechanical spaces and shops.
- Ensure compliance with all site environmental health and safety requirements.
- All other reasonable duties as requested.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Understanding of technical environment and terminology.
- Knowledge of correct storage, handling and disposal procedures for refrigerants.
- Trade certificate or license.
- Demonstrated understanding of development of process and procedures.
- Ability to drive a positive culture.
- Strong communication skills.
- Current Driver’s License.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Personnel are required to be medically fit to work and safely complete all physical tasks associated with the role. While this role is predominantly sedentary in nature, personnel must remain able to safely access associated areas and perform required actions without undue impacts to individual health and wellbeing.
SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT
It is a condition of employment at JDFPG that employees obtain and retain the appropriate level of security clearance and medical clearance applicable to each role. The employee will be required to initially obtain NV1 clearance with the intent to apply for a Top-Secret Positive Vetting (TSPV).
STATEMENT OF WORK REQUIREMENTS
- At least 18 years of age.
- Able to fluently read, write and speak English.

Each person is responsible for completing work tasks in a safe manner, reporting any unsafe acts or conditions, and continuously adhering to the environmental, health and safety procedures outlined in the JDFPG Handbook during the performance of their work.
