Job Summary

Senior Project Engineer – Electrical for the Central‑West Orana Renewable Energy Zone Transmission Project. The role focuses on design, construction, and commissioning of high‑capacity transmission lines, energy hubs, and substations.

Key Responsibilities

- Provides positive leadership to subcontractors, monitors and controls their performance and ensures the quality and standard of workmanship performed both on and off site is in accordance with the specifications and relevant procedures.
- Drives commitment to quality both top down and bottom up.
- Ensures that the appropriate personnel are in place with delegated responsibilities to guarantee quality procedures are integrated.
- Ensures that project team completes all outstanding defects as a matter of priority.
- Ensures implementation of project quality plan.
- Provides support and advice on planning and design suitability and options, the use of materials, resources, components or systems within the project, and construction practices and problems to ensure project success, value for money and best practice are achieved.
- Manages the operational aspects of project delivery to ensure the effective and efficient use of systems and processes involved with all phases of the project management model.
- Identifies what authorities are appropriate in obtaining approvals with specific project work and interrelationships between authorities.
- Maintains project schedule by monitoring project progress; coordinating activities; resolving problems.
- Prepares project status reports and change orders.

Criteria for Selection





- Experience constructing outdoor air insulated substations and substations at 220kV or above.
- Preferable 7 years’ experience in a construction / engineering environment, on large‑scale renewable energy and substation projects.
- Bachelor’s degree (Engineering).
- Relevant tertiary education.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with others.
- Presented problem‑solving and analytical skills.
- Demonstrated relevant leadership skills.
- Ensuring all relevant regulatory requirements are satisfied.
- Competent in planning and organising work schedules.
- Working knowledge of HS&E; requirements and implementation of same.
- Competent with cost control of projects.
- Transparent communication – verbal and written.
- High attention to detail.
- Intermediate knowledge of MS Office Package.

Position Details

Location: Project office in Sydney CBD, with occasional site visits. Once the project is fully operational, it will transition to Dido 14 days onsite in camp‑style accommodation and 7 days offsite on a roster‑based arrangement out of the Central West Orana Region.

Employment may be with either of the joint‑venture partners (ACCIONA, COBRA or Endeavour Energy); this will be confirmed during recruitment.
