Lead Electrical Engineer

Based in the Brisbane office, part of the Energy (Transmission & Distribution) team at Aurecon.

Responsibilities

- First point of contact with clients and internal stakeholders to discuss and assist with electrical works.
- Lead technical design for projects and client portfolios.
- Prepare return briefs and fee estimates for engineering opportunities.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary colleagues to deliver complete projects.
- Manage, mentor and supervise other engineers.
- Build strong client relationships and support driving opportunities to successful outcomes.
- Drive continuous improvement and support best‑practice standards.

Qualifications

- Relevant electrical engineering qualification.
- 10+ years’ experience delivering electrical power systems analysis and design of large medium‑voltage embedded networks across sectors including Defence, Airports, Hospitals, Mining, and BESS.
- Proven experience with power system analysis,



design and documentation; primary and secondary system substation design; protection scheme design; and earthing design.
- Track record delivering impactful outcomes across the full project lifecycle (planning, concept, detailed design, tendering, construction support).
- Solid client and contractor interface experience.
- Excellent communication, collaboration and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Strategic thinking to see the big picture and challenge assumptions.
